Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026.

The short version

GuessWhiz is a set of browser-based puzzle games. You do not need an account, and the game does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information. GuessWhiz does not set cookies. We use a cookieless, aggregate analytics service to understand which pages are visited, and our hosting provider processes the technical data needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.

What the game stores in your browser

Your game progress and streak are saved in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. The keys used are:

  • fd.state.[puzzle number] — your guesses, whether you used the hint, and whether the puzzle is finished.
  • fd.stats — your current streak and basic play statistics.

You can delete this data at any time by clearing site data for guesswhiz.com in your browser settings. If you clear it, your streak will be lost; there is no server-side copy to restore.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, and what kind of device they use. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to be privacy-first. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across other websites. The measurements are aggregate and are not used to identify individual people.

For more information, see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Hosting and server logs

GuessWhiz is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data — such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested — in order to deliver the site, keep it available and protect it against abuse. We do not receive a visitor-level log from Cloudflare and do not combine this data with any other information to identify you.

Cloudflare may also set a strictly necessary security cookie when it needs to distinguish automated traffic from real visitors. GuessWhiz itself does not set cookies.

Cookies

GuessWhiz does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or cookies for remembering your game. Your language choice and game progress are handled by the page itself and by local storage, not by cookies.

Advertising

GuessWhiz does not display third-party advertising today. If advertising is added in the future, this policy will be updated before ads go live, and any consent required by law will be requested at that time.

Children's privacy

GuessWhiz is a general-audience puzzle site and is not directed at children under 13. The game does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

  • Access and deletion. We do not hold an account or profile for you. Any game data we could associate with you is limited to what you send us by email.
  • Clear local data. Delete site data for guesswhiz.com in your browser to remove your progress and streak.
  • Block analytics. You can block the Cloudflare beacon with your browser's content blocker or privacy settings; the games will still work.
  • Questions or requests. Email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law, including the GDPR and CCPA where they apply.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing. The only third-party service used by the site is Cloudflare, as hosting and analytics provider.

International visitors

GuessWhiz can be visited from anywhere. Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical request data may be processed in countries other than your own. Cloudflare's privacy policy describes its safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes — for example, adding advertising or a new analytics service — will be described here before they take effect.
